January 2026: Apple Pay Onramp, Tax Tools, Biometrics, and Trade Thesis

January was packed. We shipped a native Apple Pay onramp through Coinbase, added tax reporting tools, introduced biometric security, launched token feeds with trade thesis, and added new discovery features. Here's the full list.

Coinbase Native Onramp (Apple Pay)

Funding your fomo account just got easier. We integrated Coinbase's native fiat-to-crypto onramp, which means you can add funds with Apple Pay in a few taps. No separate exchange account needed, no waiting for wire transfers. Tap, confirm, trade.

Tax Integration with Awaken

Tax season is less painful now. We partnered with Awaken to bring third-party tax reporting directly into fomo. Access your tax settings from the app, connect to Awaken, and generate the reports you need for filing. Your trade history is already there; now you can actually do something with it come tax time.

Biometric Security

You can now lock fomo with fingerprint or Face ID. Biometric authentication is available for app access, and you can configure it from the new Security section in settings. It's an extra layer of protection that takes zero extra effort to use day to day.

Token Feed and Trade Thesis

Every token now has its own dedicated feed showing all activity around that coin: buys, sells, and a new feature called trade thesis. Trade thesis lets you attach commentary to your trades, explaining your reasoning for entering or exiting a position. Other users can browse these theses directly in the token feed and tap through to the full trade. It adds a layer of context that pure buy/sell data alone can't provide.

  • AI tokens featured section curates tokens in the AI/ML space
  • TikTok featured tokens highlights tokens going viral on TikTok
  • Gainers filter lets you sort the home screen by top gainers
  • Low fees banner on coin pages makes fomo's fee advantage visible at the point of trade

Other Improvements

  • Send any verified Solana token to other fomo users
  • Sell again button on completed trades for quick re-entries
  • Invested amount now displays on your position card
  • Transaction simulation toggle lets you preview transactions before sending
  • Referral code in share links so your referral is included when you share trades
  • Telegram link warnings alert you before redirecting to external Telegram links
